Hole – "Violet" (1994)

I told you from the start
Just how this would end
When I get what I want
I never want it again

Happy Groundhog Day, y'all!

I wonder what I would say if Courtney Love asked me out on a date.  Would I be courageous enough to say "yes"?

Courtney is hot as all get-out.  She's also batsh*t crazy.

If you do a Google search for "batsh*t crazy," you get 843,000 hits.  Some 842,000 of those hits are about Courtney Love, the frontwoman of the punk/grunge band, Hole, and the widow of Kurt Cobain of Nirvana.

Courtney and Kurt met in 1990 and got married in 1992.  He died of a self-inflicted shotgun wound two years later.  (Just sayin'.)

Before she met Cobain, Courtney Love was briefly married to musician James Moreland, but that marriage was annulled shortly thereafter.  (Love said that Moreland was a transvestite and that their marriage was a joke.)

Next Courtney had a relationship with Smashing Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan, which inspired our featured song.  Based on the lyrics and how angry Courtney sounds as she sings "Violet," I'm guessing that things ended badly.

Are you familiar with the Hot-Crazy Matrix?

The Hot-Crazy Matrix is a graph where a woman's relative hotness is plotted on a zero-to-ten scale on the x-axis and her relative craziness is plotted on a zero-to-ten scale on the y-axis.

Actually, you plot relative craziness on a five-to-ten scale because all women score a minimum of four on a zero-to-ten craziness scale.  (If you meet a hot chick who doesn't act at all crazy – let's say she scores eight or nine on the hotness scale and only two or three on the craziness scale – she is probably a tranny.)

Ideally, you want a woman who scores higher on hotness than on craziness.  It is prudent to avoid women who have high hotness scores but even higher craziness scores – i.e., strippers, redheads, women named Tiffany.

This video explains the Hot-Crazy Matrix in simple terms:

Courtney Love is a little inconsistent when it comes to hotness.  At times, she's a nine:

At other times, she's a two or a three:

But she's very consistent when it comes to craziness – she's a solid nine . . . maybe even a nine-point-five.

In other words, we're not talking a girl who keys your new pickup when she catches you texting another girl.  We're talking someone who is capable of putting your pet rabbit in a boiling pot of water or even "Bobbitizing" you in your sleep when she catches you texting your sister.

Here's the very creepy music video for "Violet," which was released on Hole's second studio album, Live Through This, in 1994:
