“E=MC²” was released as a single in 1986 by Big Audio Dynamite, an English band that was formed by former Clash lead guitarist and vocalist Mick Jones.  It became the group’s best-selling single, peaking at #11 on the UK singles chart.

The lyrics of the song include numerous references to director Nicholas Roeg’s movies – which include Performance (1970), Don’t Look Now (1973), and The Man Who Fell to Earth (1976).  Click here if you need help decoding those references.
