Chips – "Rubber Biscuit" (1956)

Have you ever heard of a wish sandwich?
A wish sandwich is the kind of a sandwich
Where you have two slices of bread . . .
And you wish you had some meat

“Rubber Biscuit” was recorded in 1956 by the chips, a short-lived New York City doo-wop group.

One of the group’s tenors, Sammy Strain, later joined Little Anthony & the Imperials before becoming a member of the O’Jays.

The Blues Brothers – Dan Ackroyd and the late John Belushi – recorded a cover version of the song in 1973.  (If you ask me, the Blues Brothers were a waste of time – as was the 1980 movie of the same name that starred them.)
